This natural product is best used as the sole substrate but can also be used in combination with other substrates. It does not alter the pH value of the water as it is not chemically treated or coated. Seachem recommends introducing water to your aquarium by adding water to a bowl placed on the sand and letting it gently overflow. Slight cloudiness initially is not a cause for concern. This can be easily fixed by means of mechanical filtering such as filter floss.
