How To Care For 24k Golden Arowana
  • Native to Southeast Asia, the 24K Golden Arowana requires a warm environment, thriving in water temperatures between 75°F and 82°F. This variety demands a spacious aquarium, typically at least 250 gallons in size, as it can grow up to 3 feet in length. The tank should have excellent filtration to maintain clean and stable water conditions, with a slightly acidic to neutral pH. These fish are very active swimmers, so ample swimming space and open areas within the tank are essential for their well-being.
  • As carnivores, 24K Golden Arowanas need a high-protein diet to maintain their vibrant coloration. A diet consisting of high-quality pellets, live or frozen foods such as shrimp, small fish, and insects is ideal. Due to their surface-feeding behaviour, they may jump to catch prey, so it is crucial to have a secure tank lid to prevent accidental escapes.
  • While generally peaceful, 24K Golden Arowanas can be territorial, particularly in smaller tanks. It is recommended to house them with large, non-aggressive species like other large fish or catfish to avoid
    conflicts.
  • With proper care, including regular water changes, a large tank, and a balanced diet, 24K Golden Arowanas can live 10 to 15 years in captivity. Their striking golden appearance, combined with their graceful movements and majestic presence, makes them an excellent centrepiece for any aquarium.
The Arowana is a fish of unparalleled beauty and rarity, making it a coveted and highly sought-after species for experienced aquarists.
  • This species has a care level of Moderate to difficult and requires a minimum tank size of 180-200 gallons (680-760 Liters). It typically reaches a size of 24-36 inches (60-90 cm).
