SUBSTRATpro needs to be placed in the filter after the mechanical media and can be built up in one or more layers. SUBSTRATpro is washable and can be used several times. Suitable for both fresh and saltwater.

With the high number of filter bacteria, peak nitrite loads are more easily reduced, and the maintenance intervals of the filter material are longer.

Top tip:

It is advisable that you clean the filter medias in old aquarium water during maintenance. Do NOT clean the filter medias in tap water as chlorine and chloramines will remove the beneficial nitrifying bacteria that have colonised during the maturation of the aquarium.
