Description

The Albino Glowlight Tetra (Hemigrammus erythrozonus var. "Albino") is a stunning, iridescent variation of the classic Glowlight Tetra. Featuring a creamy, translucent body and a signature neon orange-red stripe that glows like a filament, these peaceful schooling fish add a unique "inner light" effect to any community aquarium.

Additional Information
Fish Care

Quick Care Guide

  • Care Level: Easy; an excellent choice for both beginners and pros.
  • Lifespan: 2 to 4 years on average.
  • Size: Reaches approximately 1.5 inches (4 cm).
  • Tank Size: Minimum 10 gallons, though they prefer more horizontal swimming space.
  • Water Parameters: Temperature: 74°F–82°F (23°C–28°C); pH: 5.5–7.5.

Behavior & CompatibilityThe Albino Glowlight is a gentleschooling fishand should be kept in groups of6 or more. They are much less "nippy" than Serpae Tetras, making them ideal for peaceful setups.

  • Ideal Tank Mates: Works perfectly with Neon Tetras, Harlequin Rasboras, Corydoras, and peaceful Dwarf Cichlids.
  • Avoid: Large, aggressive, or predatory fish that might mistake them for a snack.

Aquarium Setup & DietBecause of their "Albino" trait, their colors are most striking when contrasted against a darker background.

  • Tank Layout: Use dark gravel or sand and plenty of live plants. Floating plants are a great addition, as they prefer slightly dimmed lighting, which makes their neon stripe "pop."
  • Diet: Omnivorous and easy to feed. They thrive on a mix of high-quality tropical flakes, micro-pellets, and occasional treats of frozen daphnia or baby brine shrimp
